Joost van Tussenbroek (Commercial Manager) and Esmee van Oord (Operations Manager) join OAK Offshore’s senior management. International crewing, project services and recruitment agency OAK Offshore expands its MT with Commercial Manager Joost van Tussenbroek and Operations Manager Esmee van Oord.
As its core activities, providing skilled professionals to the global Maritime, Oil & Gas and Renewables industries were consistently successful in the past years, OAK Offshore is looking for controlled growth of its portfolio. With Esmee van Oord’s and Joost van Tussenbroek’ s arrival, more than 20 years of extra maritime and offshore experience is brought into the company.
Erik de Haan, OAK Offshore’s Managing Director, says: “Our steady growth and extension of our services justified an assessment of our position and portfolio. It became clear that we needed a bigger team to meet expanding commercial and recruitment demands, especially in the Netherlands. To deliver and maintain the desired level of quality and growth, both externally and internally, we wanted to build a solid management team with a diverse background and expertise. We have found this in Joost van Tussenbroek and Esmee van Oord.”
Joost Van Tussenbroek, has a long track record in maritime and commercial roles. “We have made a flying start and have formulated a strategy that aims to really distinguish OAK Offshore in the market. Our strategy rests on 4 pillars: Crew Management, HR and recruitment, Executive Search and Operational and Project services for world-wide projects with OAK Offshore’s in-house teams of onshore, offshore and subsea professionals. Of course, our traditional strength with our offices in Singapore and Malaysia delivering crew for pipelay vessels, heavy lift vessels, offshore installation and diving support vessels, will remain a key focus too.”
To roll out this strategy and be a dependable partner in the manpower process, quality will always go over quantity, says Joost van Tussenbroek. “This is logical if you want to build long-term relationships. We also emphasize this internally. If you want a quality workforce, you have to understand each other. That’s why, for example, we have set-up six-month colleague exchange programs between our European and South East Asian offices. In addition, when it comes to crewing and recruitment, our locations are complimentary as to the available skills, education levels and function types needed for onshore, offshore and subsea projects.
Esmee van Oord, is highly experienced in offshore and onshore recruitment, search & selection is about keeping customers satisfied by getting the right person in the right place at the right time: “I’m always looking for a win-win-win situation; for the client, the candidate and us,” she says. “We closely monitor our candidates while they’re working on a project. Building up a long-term relation with them is as important as it is with our customers. I am looking forward to further our client-base and services in the coming months.”
Additionally, Esmee van Oord adds: “Of course, we have our process and formal tools, but we always keep personal contact, including on important life-events. It’s the little things that count. For example, I just picked up a new Subsea Intervention Manager from Schiphol Airport myself, to make him feel welcome. That’s why we have our motto ‘Work together to accomplish more’. We feel this sends the right message to our partners, but it also goes for ourselves. You’ll notice that when you visit our offices!”
